The year 2023 is close at hand, and tagging along is a slew of automotive updates, particularly with the Chevy brand, along with some excitement for the 2024 year. Here’s the latest.

2023 Chevrolet Colorado

The latest Chevy Colorado uses a frame borrowed from its larger sibling, the Silverado truck. Alongside its 3.1-inch longer wheelbase, this midsize vehicle is a show-off with a thoroughly reworked design on the inside out. Car shoppers have only one engine in their selection, a 4-cylinder 2.7-liter turbocharger, with an output of 237-310 hp and 259-430 lb-ft of torque, subject to the trim. More often than not, it’s geared with an 8-speed automatic transmission, ultimately giving power to the rear wheels or an optional four-wheel-drive (4WD) system.

There are several technological features to cherish, like the standard 11.3-inch infotainment display that involves Apple CarPlay and Android compatibility. This display uses a Google-styled interface with applications for features such as media and navigation. Front-seat passengers also have access to a USB-A and a USB-C port, together with a wireless charging pad.

2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The full-size Silverado truck for 2023 has only gone through a few teensy changes, with the center being a stormier 3.0-liter turbodiesel I-6 option with an output of 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. What’s more, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country trims can be geared with this engine.

The lineup also brings a ZR2 AEV Bison variant onto the scene. This off-roader is constructed with more intensive bumpers, underbody protection, and off-road suspension. The icing on the cake includes:

• Front tow hooks.
• 18-inch AEV wheels wrapped in 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.
• The familiar ZR2 AEV Bison badging.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 HD

The bow tie-badged car manufacturer applied some considerable upgrades to the 2024 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD pickups, with refashionings including new exterior styling, six new colors for the interior, and new 18- and 20-inch wheel designs. A recent High Country Midnight Edition package consists of all-black accents. The off-road-centered ZR2 trim has become available on Chevy’s HD trucks for the first time.

The American automaker also hit the bells and whistles of its turbodiesel V-8 engine, producing 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque. The traditional 6-speed automatic has also been exchanged for the Allision 10-speed automatic.

New trailer technologies are also journeying into this HD-level vehicle, as one can take advantage of adaptive cruise control while towing, with technology to assess aerodynamic drag, anticipating greater braking distances. The company’s Transparent Trailer system has also been expanded to team with fifth-wheel and gooseneck trailers, plus the blind-spot monitoring taking responsibility for the trailer’s blind zones.

The makeover in the cabin has resulted in a larger available 13.4-inch infotainment screen and 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The interior also encompasses a new center stack layout. At the same time, High Country trims receive a new center console design with a wireless charger.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV

At last, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV makes a dramatic entrance as a standalone model on General Motors’ electric vehicle platform. The all-wheel-drive (AWD) dual-motor setup will produce a majestic 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque, which supposedly will zoom from 0-60 mph in under 4.5 seconds. This EV will journey on an adjustable adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering. Hauling features encompass an eTrunk front trunk, Chevy’s Multi-Flex Midgate, and Multi-Flex tailgate.

The cabin is rigged inside with a 17.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 14.0-inch head-up display, and an 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster. It also tacks on a glitzy panoramic glass roof.
