2024 Chevy Silverado EV Sees All-New 3WT Trim
The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is expected to arrive soon after making its debut as a fully electric pickup truck. Chevy was expected to offer the Silverado EV in two trims–the WT and RST First Edition. Designed for commercial and fleet customers, the WT trim would accommodate larger organizations wanting to shift toward more sustainable transportation. The RST First Edition on the other hand was intended to be a highly capable and versatile all-electric truck that could compete with other EV trucks like the F-150 Lightning and Tesla Cyber Truck. One issue with the Silverado EV however was its MSRP which starts at $105,000 (plus destination fee). To appeal to more consumers, Chevy is offering a more affordable trim called the 3WT which will start at an MSRP of $74,900 (plus destination fee). What To Expect From The 2024 Silverado EV 3WT
Chevy will be offering a new trim for the all-new 2024 Silverado EV called the 3WT. Building off the commercial and fleet WT trim, the 3WT provides consumers with an affordable electric truck that still packs a punch. Chevy initially designed the WT trim for organizations wanting to shift toward more sustainable transportation. It offers impressive performance delivering 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, but the higher tier RST First Edition ups the ante. It delivers 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. It also features a 0 to 60 mph time of just 4.5 seconds.
Although the RST First Edition offers superior capability and versatility compared to the WT trim, its high MSRP may dissuade potential customers. Recognizing this, Chevy designed the 3WT trim which still provides consumers with a powerful electric pickup truck. Designed for efficiency, the 3WT trim features a crew cab configuration with a shorter front overhang. This design provides the Silverado EV with a more aggressive stance and it enhances the overall space inside the truck. The truck has also been designed to reduce drag and turbulence. Inside, the second row is pushed rearward providing rear passengers with more space.
The new Silverado EV 3WT trim also features a new 1FL Fleet package which equips the truck with 18-inch wheels. The electric truck features a max towing capacity of 12,500 pounds and a payload capacity of 1,750 pounds. Drive modes like tow/haul also help with towing and hauling. Features like an integrated trailer brake controller and hitch guidance also help owners ensure they have no trouble towing and hauling wherever they go. For range, the Silverado EV can travel up to 393 miles on a single charge. When using a DC fast charger, the Silverado EV will add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Whether it’s the new 3WT trim or the all-powerful RST First Edition, consumers should expect the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV to dominate the EV truck market.
