A Brand New Base Engine For The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado

Chevrolet announced that the 2023 Silverado 1500 RST Crew Cab is getting a brand-new base engine. The original base engine was the 5.3-liter L84 V8, and the new one will be a 2.7-liter L3B turbo inline four-cylinder. The new engine gets 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque.
The best mileage range is the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine that gets 23 in the city and 33 highway mpg. On the other hand, the Silverado 6.2-liter V8 gets 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque with a towing capability of 8,900-13,300 lbs. The base engine has an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the other engines have a 10-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet offers five different trims on the 2023 Silverado 1500, with the base model at a starting price of $36,645 (plus destination fee).
Chevy Entering The EV World
There is exciting news for Chevrolet because a new electric vehicle is joining their truck lineup, and the 2024 Silverado EV is coming this spring. Chevy has recently released a video introducing the battery-powered truck to the world. The 2024 Silverado EV work truck trim could tow a 7,700-pound trailer in the video, but the towing capacity can get up to 10,000 lbs for other trims. The new Silverado truck is doing great in all the tests thrown its way.
The ground clearance of the Silverado EV RST is 8.9 inches. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV has yet to hit the market, and it’s still holding its ground and becoming a significant competitor in the EV game. This new EV truck comes off as a strong competitor based on its abilities, towing, pricing, and so much more. Consumers cannot wait to get their hands on this outstanding EV truck and test it for themselves.
2022 Silverado 1500
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 got a much-needed facelift in and out of the vehicle, and it is one for the books. All trim levels of this truck have a 13.4-inch touchscreen, and the infotainment system offers Google Maps, Google Assistance, and voice recognition. The judges for TOTY were also impressed with the digital instrument cluster, which offers four different layout systems.
The Silverado might seem like an overwhelming truck, but it is quite the opposite; its direct and firm steering capabilities and receptive brake pedal make it easy to manage. This truck can tow a good amount of weight; for example, a 7,000-pound trailer attached to its back end. The Silverado pickup truck offers a 6.2-liter engine with a roaring V-8 sound, switchable dual-mode exhaust, and who could forget the massive side mirrors to help see the truck’s rear. Overall, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has considerably improved in many ways, and customers have noticed.
