A standard engine option for the new truck is a sizable 6.6-liter gasoline V8 engine that makes 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft on all the wheels. Chevy has made a 10-speed Allison automatic gearbox for the Silverado HD ZR2. This specific gearbox has been around since 2020 and is made specifically for heavy trucks. New features for this truck also include an aluminum skid plate, rear locker, 18-inch wheels, a steel transfer case, plus so much more.
As for the interior, there is a 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch gauge cluster, and a 15-inch heads-up display. This truck has a towing capacity of 18,500 lbs and a max payload rating of 3,397 lbs. The Allison transmission’s 10-speed design helps with better engine braking control. The horsepower and torque numbers improved to 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque, per SAE J1349. These upgraded numbers help enhance the overall performance of this truck.
