Chevrolet’s 2024 Colorado: A Deeper Dive into the Upgrades

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is poised for a remarkable transformation as it transitions into the 2024 model year, as unveiled in the GM fleet order guide. A significant focus of this evolution centers on the engine lineup, reflecting Chevrolet’s strategic commitment to enhancing the overall driving experience.

In the forthcoming 2024 Colorado lineup, the 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine will continue to serve as a standard feature, coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine’s power output varies according to the specific trim levels:

• The “Turbo” trim delivers a commendable 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, serving as the standard powerplant for the Colorado’s Work Truck (WT) and LT trims.
• The mid-level trim, formerly known as “Turbo Plus,” now impressively generates 310 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. It is available as an option for the WT and LT trims and comes standard on the Trail Boss and Z71 models.
• The high-performance “Turbo High-Output” trim, now rebranded as “TurboMax” for the 2024 Colorado, boasts an impressive 310 hp and a robust 430 lb-ft of torque. It remains an optional engine choice for the LT, Trail Boss, and Z71 trims while being standard on the ZR2.

In addition, GM Authority reports that current 2023 Colorado owners with the previous “Turbo Plus” engine will have the opportunity to upgrade to the enhanced “TurboMax” power figures later in the year. Chevrolet intends to offer this performance improvement as a dealer-installed accessory, although specific pricing details are yet to be confirmed.

For the upcoming model year, Chevrolet is also elevating the Colorado’s technological and customization options. Previously, the choice between an eight-inch and 11-inch driver information screen was limited to specific trims, with the larger screen exclusively available on the top-tier ZR2 trim. However, in 2024, all Colorado owners will enjoy the larger 11-inch digital gauge cluster, replacing the eight-inch option. This upgrade significantly broadens personalization possibilities, including Balanced or Enhanced digital gauge cluster layouts and a choice of three distinct themes.

Furthermore, the Advanced Trailering Package will incorporate Blind Zone Steering Assist and Trailering features. Notably, this package will be standard on the ZR2 trim but not on other trims, where Blind Zone Steering Assist without trailering features can typically be found in one of the Convenience Packages. Chevrolet is also introducing a new Dark Essentials Package, featuring Black Bowtie badges for the WT and LT trims. Additionally, an exciting array of optional off-road accessories will be available, including lighting, side steps, Kicker audio enhancements, and a sports bar for the bed. And let’s not forget the eagerly anticipated Colorado Bison, which is on its way.
