How Much Is a Chevrolet Bolt Today?

Are you wondering how much the highly anticipated next-generation Chevrolet Bolt will cost you? This completely redesigned electric vehicle (EV) launches at an incredibly attractive $29,990 MSRP, including destination fee, for the initial LT trim, with a lower-priced version arriving later at $28,995 MSRP, including destination fee. With an estimated 255 miles of range and a 10-to-80-percent charge in 26 minutes, an affordable EV finally fits under $30,000 MSRP, including destination fee.
What the New Bolt Costs
Affordability is the headline, and the numbers stay refreshingly simple. The Bolt LT carries one of the lowest starting prices of any new EV, and Chevrolet has confirmed two LT price points rather than burying buyers in trim math. Both figures already include the destination charge, so the sticker reflects what you actually pay before taxes and any incentives:
- Launch Bolt LT:$29,990 starting MSRP, including destination
- Lower-priced LT (later): $28,995 starting MSRP, including destination
Where the Bolt Fits in Chevy’s EV Lineup
The Bolt doesn’t stand alone. It joins the Equinox EV, which Chevrolet positions as America’s most affordable EV with more than 315 miles of EPA-estimated range. The Bolt takes a different title: the EV with the most range under $30,000 MSRP (plus destination fee).
Together, they anchor the brand’s value-focused electric strategy. As Global Chevrolet vice president Scott Bell put it, “the original Bolt was the industry’s first affordable, mass-market, long-range EV,” earning one of GM’s most loyal followings on price and practicality.
Range and Charging
Charging is where the new Bolt makes its biggest leap. It’s the first Chevrolet with a native NACS port, opening direct access to a wider charging network.
On a DC fast charger, the Bolt accepts up to 150 kilowatts, roughly 2.5 times the speed of the previous Bolt EV, and refills from 10 to 80 percent in about 26 minutes. Paired with an estimated 255 miles of range, that pace covers a typical day’s driving with room to spare.
Technology Inside
Inside, the Bolt centers on an 11.3-inch touchscreen running Google Built-in, so a simple “Hey Google” handles navigation, climate, heated seats, voice-to-text, phone calls, and even smart-home commands once configured.
Ahead of the driver sits an 11-inch configurable instrument cluster showing speed, range, efficiency, and more. When the Bolt is parked, the same screen becomes an entertainment hub through the Google Play Store, with apps such as HBO Max, Prime Video, Chrome, Tubi, and Angry Birds ready to download.
Super Cruise and One-Pedal Driving
Driver assistance reaches well above the price point. Available Super Cruise enables true hands-free driving across more than 750,000 mapped miles of road in the U.S. and Canada, and a tap of the turn signal lets the system change lanes for you.
Built-in Google Maps keeps the Bolt in the correct lane ahead of exits. One-pedal driving is yours to choose: engage it and lifting off the accelerator slows the car automatically; disengage it and the Bolt coasts like a conventional vehicle.
Backup Power for Your Home
One feature usually reserved for pricier EVs comes built in: vehicle-to-home bidirectional charging. Paired with a GM Energy Home System, the Bolt can act as a backup generator, powering essential parts of a home when the grid goes down during a hurricane or winter storm. It is a premium capability offered at a notably accessible price.
LT and RS Trims
The Bolt comes in two flavors. The standard LT covers the essentials, while the sporty RS dresses things up with a special grille badge, high-gloss black wheels, and roof rails.
The RS also unlocks exclusive paint options, including Habanero Orange and Atomic Yellow, and features red accent stitching throughout the cabin for a sharper, more expressive look. Either way, the core Bolt value stays intact.
