Top Chevrolet Silverado High Country Premium Features

Chevy’s top-shelf half-ton truck just got rebuilt from the grille back. The next-generation Chevrolet Silverado High Country isn’t a quick trim refresh with bigger wheels bolted on; it brings new powertrain options, a redesigned cabin, updated screens, and a clearer vision of what a luxury truck should feel like with a trailer hooked up behind it.
Top of a Shorter Ladder
Chevrolet trimmed the Silverado 1500 lineup to seven trims, omitting the LTZ. That sounds like a loss until you notice how much equipment the High Country carries as standard. Pricing starts at $71,700 MSRP (excluding destination fee), and that buys Super Cruise, a head-up display, and an 11.5-inch passenger screen. Lower trim levels either charge extra for those or skip them entirely.
It shares the top of the lineup with the ZR2, though the two variants barely compete. Plenty of High Country owners will never go looking for a sand dune. Their week is filled with highway miles, a job site or two, and backing down a boat ramp most Saturdays.
Three Engines, None of Them Small
No four-cylinder TurboMax here. The High Country buyer has never been shopping for an entry engine anyway. Per GM’s order guide, the available lineup includes:
- 5.7L V-8: Standard | 402 horsepower | 428 lb-ft torque
- 6.6L V-8: Available | 481 horsepower | 501 lb-ft torque
- 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel: Available | 305 horsepower | 495 lb-ft torque
The 6.6-liter naturally aspirated V-8 is the headliner, billed by Chevy as the most powerful naturally aspirated V-8 in its class. The Duramax Turbo-Diesel is the sleeper pick, reaching 495 pound-feet of torque at just 2,750 revolutions per minute (RPM). Every engine runs through a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Face Is New
Parked next to the outgoing truck, the visual changes show immediately from across the lot:
- Grille: Exclusive Tritan Satin finish
- Wheels: 22-inch After Midnight machine-faced wheels (standard)
- Badge: Redesigned High Country emblem
- Lighting: Updated LED headlights and taillights
- Exhaust: Dual outlets
Big wheels usually mean a busier ride, but Chevy equips Adaptive Ride Control to read road conditions and adjust damping on the fly. So the 22-inch wheels look the part without punishing ride comfort.
Inside, Pick Your Mood
Two distinct interior themes are offered: Jet Black or Jet Black with Enoki. Either way, you get real wood trim, Tritan Satin accents, custom seat treatments, and seatbelts edged in Natural Tan. Microfiber suede is also available if you want an even softer touch.
The High Country features the first panoramic sunroof ever offered on a Silverado, brightening the cabin for rear passengers. The Multi-Flex center console reconfigures for whatever you’re hauling around and carries a debossed logo to remind you what you paid for.
More Glass Than Some Living Rooms
Every new Silverado gets a digital cockpit, but the High Country piles on even more display screen area:
- Center Display: 16.3 inches
- Driver Information Center: 12.2 inches
- Front Passenger Display: 11.5 inches (standard)
- Head-Up Display: Standard
- Rear Camera Mirror: Standard
Add it up, and you’re past 60 diagonal inches of screen space. The passenger display earns its keep on a long drive by giving your co-pilot a screen of their own. Dual wireless charging is available, as well.
Hands Off, Trailer On
Super Cruise comes standard, providing hands-free driver assistance on compatible roads while towing a trailer. Eyes stay on the road, while automatic lane changes switch off during trailering. Three years of Super Cruise connectivity are included.
