Chevrolet Silverado

There are some critical updates to learn that are applied to trucks like the Chevrolet Silverado and what updated capabilities come with the 2023 and 2024 models. It’s important to know what to look for while shopping for a brand-new light-duty pickup truck. It’s known that pickup trucks need a good amount of traction to work correctly, and to help that, the Silverado has an automatic locking rear axle.

Every gas-powered Chevy Silverado engine uses Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) technology, a big bonus for this truck. Another big perk is the MultiFlex tailgate, which can hold up to 375 lbs and is still an option for the newer versions. Introduced a few years back is the ‘Jack-Knife Alert,’ which helps drivers track how a trailer is positioned to the back of the truck and is extremely helpful for many safety reasons. The list could go on and on about why the Chevrolet Silverado is a popular vehicle, and anyone lucky enough to own this truck won’t be disappointed.

More On The 2023 Silverado

Chevrolet announced that the 2023 Silverado 1500 RST Crew Cab is getting a brand-new base engine. The original base engine was the 5.3-liter L84 V8, and the new one will be a 2.7-liter L3B turbo inline four-cylinder. The RST truck models will still offer a 6.2-liter L87 V8 gas engine, a 5.3-liter V8, and the 3.0-liter LZ0 inline six-cylinder Duramax turbo diesel engine. The new engine gets 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque.

The best mileage range is the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine that gets 23 in the city and 33 highway mpg. On the other hand, the Silverado 6.2-liter V8 gets 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque with a towing capability of 8,900-13,300 lbs. The base engine has an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the other engines have a 10-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet offers five different trims on the 2023 Silverado 1500, with the base model at a starting price of $36,645 (plus destination fee).

2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD

Chevrolet is giving customers what they want by introducing a heavy-duty truck, the 2024 Silverado HD. This truck comes with updated features, enhanced technology, and much more. The new lineup includes 2500HD and 3500HD models in Regular, Double, and Crew Cab configurations. The 3500HD has dual-rear-wheel models and has the highest trailering capacity, which is a whopping 36,000 pounds.

The 2024 Silverado HD is obtainable in Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country trims. There is also an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission, now standard equipment for the Silverado HD’s powertrains, with a standard 6.6L V-8 gas engine and Duramax turbo-diesel. The Allison transmission’s 10-speed design helps with better engine braking control. The horsepower and torque numbers improved to 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque, per SAE J1349. These upgraded numbers help enhance the overall performance of this truck.

The Silverado HD has a significant presence and updated appearance features, including new headlights, fascia, and a new grille. This truck looks like it’s up for any adventure that comes its way. More exterior updates include standard tow hooks, “CHEVROLET” lettering on the hood scoop, and six new exterior colors: Sterling Gray, Dark Ash, Radiant Red, Auburn Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, and Meteorite Metallic.

More capabilities of this truck include a Durabed cargo box, 83.5 cubic feet of the long box, Bedsteps, a 120-volt power outlet, a power tailgate, and more. The lineup also has the Z71 Sport Edition, Z71 Chrome Sport Edition, Midnight Special Edition, and the Alaskan Snow Plow Special Edition packages.
